Outer-Wear
This series makes reference to textiles and the environment's relationship and how they impact each other utilizing installations. Intervening in the spaces has become a way for me to better interact with the work in the physical space. Rather than images of clothes already disposed of on the side of the road, creating my personal landfilled in my backyard I am able to explore the spaces in smaller scenes. This focused on the textiles being decorative and the series more hands-on as a part of the process but the key motivation for the series. Creating these theoretical interactions that would not normally occur outdoor’s by designing the space with materials relating to textiles outside the closet, making something happen in what can be a natural rare occurrence. Using items that are already owned and dedicating a space for these works to momentarily live and to essentially document the process of intertwining these elements.
