MADI turns off the overhead lights while BEE lights a joint

MADI

(Visibly distraught)
Dude, there has to be some way that I can take my love of cinematography and video and make it this sort of cinematic masterpiece using only images.

BEE

(Confused)
What? Bro, every single time you shoot it’s almost like a movie so, you’re losing me.

MADI

Well, in so many words, yeah, that is how I shoot. However, if you remember the Identity Crisis project I started back in March, like right at the height of the pandemic.

NAT

(Interjecting)
The one you were doing about your self-identity?

CUT TO NAT IN THE BACKSEAT

MADI

(Excitingly)
Yes! Exactly that! I’m basically trying to figure out how to connect that work to a movie, but I’m

drawing a blank.

CUT TO THE JOINT EXCHANGE

BEE offers the joint to MADI who gladly takes it and smokes. CUT BACK TO MADI

CUT BACK TO MADI

After a bit of silence and smoking MADI offers NAT the joint who politely declines.

MADI (CONT'D) (Exclaiming)

Y’all.

NAT & BEE

(In unison) What?

MADI

(Whispering) Subtitles.

BEE

(Confused) Subtitles?

MADI

(Excitingly)
Yeah, so basically, I continue to make cinema style images but I add subtitles to the bottom of it about my life and the general conversations I have with people.

CUT TO THE FRONT OF THE CAR

EXT. APARTMENT COMPLEX – NIGHT

CUT TO BEE

CUT TO MADI

The conversation can still be heard but it is muffled as MADI BEE and NAT exit the vehicle

(Gleefully)
