My series titled “As Above So Below” is a series that comes after experiencing a sexual assault. Through the manipulation of polaroids, I have been able to express the various emotions I have gone through, often multiple times a day. The photos began to take on the feeling of a visual diary. The series helps me categorize the emotions in a way I understand them better by relating them to specific “planes” such as the ground, the earth that we walk on, and the sky. I have used materials such as bleach, windex, inks, nail polish, lipstick, foundation, glitter glue, dried flowers, and dirt.
